The 62nd Annual Meeting of the Coll Agricultural and Horticultural Society was held on Friday, August 5th, 1983 in the newly-renovated village hall. Sheep and cattle were judged by Mr Donald Morrison and winners were:
1. Fiona Cup - Mike Taylor
2. Kenneth Cup - T. D. Waugh
3. Same Tankard - C. N. Kennedy
4. Cattle Cup - T. D. Waugh

The Horticultural Section was judged by Mr J. Watson and the Cup was again won by Mrs C. Brodie, Ballard. The Cup for floral arrangements was won by Mrs P. K. Hinkson.

Mrs B MacKinnon of Tiree was the judge for the Industrial Section and winners were Mrs C. MacKinnon for the main baking section- Miss N. Galbraith and Mrs C. MacKinnon for scones and pancakes.

A display of dancing was given by Mrs MacKinnon's dancing class with piping supplied by Sandy MacKinnon. Assorted sideshows were put on by Mr David Wilson and Sports were organised by Mr D. Moore.. assisted by Rodney Paul.

At the end of the day prizes were presented by local author, Pat Barr. The evening was rounded off with a dance, music played by Colin Kennedy.
