KATIE MORAG

On the 17th November the BBC came to Coll to film one of the Katie Morag stories.

Two ladies called Sarah and Sasha were the producers. A boy called Lawrie Neil was having his birthday party. At the party we had to try on a wig because Katie Morag has red hair. Mine was red already but even I had to try on the wig. The next day Sarah and Sasha rang me and asked me if I could play Katie Morag. My Mum, Lee, said, "Yes, Amy can play Katie Morag." The best part was getting two days off school to be filmed. (What??! - Mrs Barr.)

On Monday I had to go down to Shirley's house to get my hair cut. My Mum was not quite sure because she didn't want my hair too short ( she loves my hair when it is long). At about 4 or 5 o'clock, me, Mum and my sister Jessica went home. Sarah said to me, "Don't brush your hair in the morning because it should be untidy."

The next day it was time to be filmed. First we went to the hill at Struan, then to Angus's house. They filmed me walking out of Angus's house and past the tractor. Then we went to Red Rocks where they filmed me looking for Tiresome Ted under the seaweed. When I found Tiresome Ted I had to give him a hug. It took all morning to film the part.

After Red Rocks we went to the pub to have some lunch. After lunch we went to the pier to film me kicking the Teddy into the sea. This was quite funny because one time I kicked the teddy and it floated away. Robert Sturgeon had to go out in his boat to get it.

Then we went to a wee house in the village called Mull View. I was quite tired of filming all day. There were a lot of people at Mull View. We stood there for about two hours being filmed, we were all looking at Mrs McColl's new baby. The baby was really one of Tina's twin boys called Domhail. Everybody was to be happy except me, I was jealous. My Mum played Granny Island. She had to wear a white wig.

The next day it was the tractor scene and Angus had to wear a white wig and pretend to be Granny Island. I had to sit on the back of the tractor. I was really scared. I had to look happy and wave to all the people in the street. They all waved to me as I went past on the tractor. That same day I had to sit on a bench in a grumpy mood then stomp away. Everybody was saying that Katie Morag will get over it, I did enjoy being Katie Morag, I think I've got over it now!
