At the end of Autumn, while walking the lochdair, Donald MacFarlane found a turtle on the shore. The turtle was weak and had only one front flipper. Donald had to carry it home in a bag. He and his father looked after it for two days until they were able to put it safely on board the ferry "Lord of the Isles". After a short time in Oban, where it was given the name 'Picasso', the staff of the Sea Life Centre sent it to Northern Ireland. According to the latest report that they received, the turtle was being sent by air to the Azores to be returned to the ocean.

Good luck Picasso.
