Teen View Number Two..... Summer 2000

Teen View Number Two... .Summer 2000

You would imagine summers are boring here on Coll for teenagers, but there are a lot of young people around and there are a surprising amount of things to do. Last summer we discovered the delights of jumping off of the pier head into the sea and later off the dolphins, which are the huge concrete blocks at the big pier. It can be very high at low tide, which makes it a huge adrenaline rush as you plummet towards the water trying to land properly so it doesn't hurt. The sea is reasonably warm and the excitement takes your mind off the chill.

We also spend a lot of time at our beach, Struan, where we play touch rugby, camp and are generally lazy. Struan is a great beach because it is near everyone. The rugby can be fiercely competitive when everyone can be bothered, but I can't say that happens very often.

Coll summers are a great laugh with dances, the show and the fishing competitions in which many of us take part and get involved.
