The Stream of Heads

THE STREAM OF HEADS

Clear yon stream
That runs today
Totronald springs
To Breacha Bay

Centuries since
Did it run red
By blood of men
Long since dead

The tale is told
That Spaniards came
To rout Macleans
By bloody game

The skirmish raged
From noon till night
Yon hacking fiends
Great grisly sight

Come fighting end
Each bloody head
To tidy tossed
In stream to bed

And ducks did dabble
As stream ran reds
To men of Coll
"The Stream of Heads"
