2 The stone marking the grave of the Rev. Hector MacLean who was minister in Coll when Boswell and Johnston were stormstayed there. Johnston had quite a fierce discussion with him. He died in 1775 and there is a lengthy inscription on the stone.
3 This stone marks the grave of Donald Maclean who also figured in the B. & J. stay. He was the 'Cornaig' who visited them several times in the castle. He had the tack of Cornaig. When his brother died, he became laird of Muck. That family always called their island Monk in preference to Muck and Monk is the name on the stone |
