NIALL MACQUARRIE

It was with deep sense of shock and sorrow his many friends on the island and elsewhere heard of Niall MacQuarrie's very sudden passing on the 16th January. Niall was born and bred on Coll and after leaving school joined the Merchant Navy where he served for over twenty years at home and abroad. Having decided to give up the sea, he took employment with United Biscuits where he was in charge of the hygiene department until he took early retirement some rive years ago. Since his retirement he spent lengthy holidays on Coll which he loved more than anywhere else on earth. His kensepeckle figure will be missed by all who knew him and he will be remembered with much love and respect. Much sympathy is extended to his wife, Helen, and his son, Brian, who reside in Glasgow.
