Roads: Coll's strangely unstable roads will continue to be geotextiled, tarmaced and chipped during the coming summer, the favoured length being from Acha to the West End. The Sorisdale turning and parking area has been completed to satisfaction as has the provision of two new cattle grids. Further grids to replace exisiting gates are proposed and additional passing places are also to be considered,
Old Pier: Tenders for the renovation of the Old Pier were sought in May but by November only one bid had been received. A draft contract for the work is being prepared and the availability of funding is being confirmed.
Cal. Mac.: Concern had been expressed over the forthcoming privatisation of Cal. Mac. and assurances were sought of the continuity of service to Coll. During the summer of '94 the ferry timetable will have the Sunday sailing replaced by one on Tuesday, calling at Coll both ways but not at Tobermory. The long-awaited pier shed and parking area could be on the way. The demise of Lilley, who had the original contract, has meant a lengthy delay but this - we are promised - will be put to rights this summer. Applications for a parking attendant are required - contact Hamish MacRae.
Mail: Unfortunately, there being a `Coll' on Stornoway, some Isle of Coll mail is misdirected to Stornowav and vice versa. The Post Office has been contacted to hopefully minimise such errors.
Justice of the Peace: Since Coll has only one Justice of the Peace on the island, it is hoped that this representation can be increased in the future.
Objective One: The Coll & Tiree District Councillor will be putting forward proposals to attract European Community Funding. Thus far, the projects suggested by the Coll community
