A Coll Year

A Coll Year

January brings "Happy New Year"
Which lasts two weeks at least,
Most folk just sit round their fires
Outsides no fit for man nor beast.
But there's always "Men's Club" or
"Knitting Bee"
To give us that bit "fun",
Or listening to the roaring sea,
Or the wind around the lum.

February carries on
Where January left off.
The rain, the wind, the grey wet shore
Doing anything is tough.
The sheep and cattle are getting lean,
The feed's being used up fast,
Oh! Just to see a bit of green
And Spring to come at last
