GUY FAWKES

GUY FAWKES

The evening of 5th November was yet again remembered when Guy Fawkes was to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London in the year 1605. (It is a mute point as to whether or not we would be better off today if he had succeeded).

The fire was again a huge success being generally built by Pete and Martin, with trailer loads of rubbish supplied by many fathers. Lighting time of the bonfire was 6.30 p.m. and of course the weather was 'orrid! Still, it was great fun and the fireworks were good.

Hot dogs along with punch were served by Julie from the Hotel.

A collection during the evening raised the sum of £40.00 towards a more spectacular firework display in 1990.
