FAMILY FINAL

The pool finals took place at the Coll Hotel and, appropriately enough, displayed the skills of Kevin and Julie Oliphant, the hotel owners. With contrasting styles of play, the match was quite exciting and very close. The oddest part of the proceedings, however, was when the finalists' baby daughter Laura awoke and needed tending. Undaunted, Julie brought the fretful child to the pool room and the players took turns to hold and soothe her as the game continued. The bemused spectators found this and various other distractions so vastly entertaining that Kevin's eventual narrow victory almost passed unnoticed!
