Dear Editor,

Many thanks for sending Coll Magazine, Issue 4. Jim and I enjoyed every page of it.

The article on the Scottish Horse and the picture of my uncles John and Duncan Hyne brought back pleasant memories of a trip to Ballard in 1931.

Uncle Duncan was the Castle gardener and it was a beautiful place.

He would play the bagpipes for us marching up and down in front of the house with all of us marching after him. We were quite a crowd, Bella and Chrissie MacFadyen, Morag Kennedy (Carnan Road), my sisters Annie and Morag.

He was quite a man, had a smile for everyone and he loved children. How he and Auntie Jeanie put up with us I'll never know.

I hope we can visit Coll next year, haven't been there since 1977.
