BY ROYAL APPOINTMENT...

On the 29th June 1995 everyone was extremely excited because Prince Charles was coming to our school today to present us with our prizes. He was to arrive by helicopter. There were policemen all up the school brae. We kept running out to see if he was there but he wasn't. The last time we ran out he was there. There were nearly 63 people all crowded in the school. When he did eventually arrive we all rushed back into school and got into our places. We thought the Convener, Mr Perry, was Prince Charles! We sang L'Arc en Ciel before he gave out the prizes. We got lots of clapping because of that. After we sang L'Arc en Ciel we got our Magic Mac Certificates and our School Certificates. When we went up to get our certificates and shake the Prince's hand we got lots of clapping and cheering. Our friend Laura did a huge curtsy and she got loads of clapping and cheering. Kip Poulson took photographs of us all with Prince Charles and all his important people. Sandy Munro got the School Cup. He is the first boy to get the School Cup. Prince Charles talked about how glad he was to be here and other things, then he unveiled the plaque for our corridor. By then it was time for him to go to Ballyhough. While he was at Ballyhough we all went home to get changed and go to the Middle Pier to see him there. When he got back we were back down in the village. We all went down to the middle pier to see him. There were lots of people there already.
